FAQ’s - Bifolds

The questions and information provided below are based on our Goldseal Origin Aluminium bifolding door system.
If you require information regarding UPVC, Timber or Aluminium-Timber Clad bifolds please email info@goldseal.org.uk
A: What is the minimum & maximum width per door?
The minimum width is 400mm if the number of doors is odd, folding in one or both directions and 700mm if the number of doors is even, all folding one way, with a maximum width of 1200mm per door leaf.
B: Are the doors top or bottom hung?
Our doors run on the bottom track and are guided by two wheels within the top track.
C: What threshold options do you have?
Goldseal have two threshold options - our severe weather rated threshold which we would recommend for external use, especially in exposed areas. This can be fitted to create a virtually flush threshold only having a difference of 10mm from finished floor to possible finished external floor. Secondly, our low threshold option is available. We do not recommend this for external use (as it is not weather tested) but should be used for internal use.
D: Does your system allow for a cill?
You can have a threshold without a cill or it can be seated on our 155 mm or 180 mm cill section. The choice is yours – please see some of the options below which demonstrate some of the many different ways you can seat and finish your bifolds to your exact requirements.
E: What is the maximum height of the doors?
2500 mm is the maximum overall height (including the frame).
F: What colours do you offer?
We offer a specially selected range of seven colours plus three natural wood effects. Additionally, the choice is available from the full range of Interpon RAL colours and Oak & Mahogany. Click here for colour Range
